My experience in Nigeria with the Cultural Arts and Development Bridge (CADB) organizers can not be described in words but I will attempt to do so regardless. Life changing, I never expected to gain so much in the 2 weeks that I spent traveling through Nigeria. I had the opportunity to quench my historical thirst as I gathered as much culture, knowledge, and traditional Yoruba spirituality that my mind could endure.

Traveling was very simple, everyone with whom I came as well as the Omowale’s were able to stay together in vehicles that Carried 10+ passengers. Even riding up the street was an experience. There was always a scene outside the windows whether it was busy city lifestyle or diligent street vendors. This was a familiar scene as we went from city to city. Cities including Lagos, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ile Ife, Badagry, And Ibadan. We visited sites in each city such as Olumo Rock, Osun Grove, the Point of No Return in Badagry and many more.

Everyone walked away from this experience emotionally and spiritually reawakened and we all continue to learn and grow here in the states. CADB utilized most of the time we spent there ensuring that we were never bored and got the most out of our experience. I look forward to many more traveling opportunities with CADB!”
